Negative Capability: Responding to Literature with Personal Voice and Analytical Insight

The premise underlying this presentation is that we are doing a disservice to students if we ask them to read literature without challenging them to make personal connections along with their critical opinions. Encouraging personal response to literature will elicit original thought that can later be developed analytically. Looks at how dialogue journals can help meet these needs in bridging understanding literature and writing about it with peers will help draw out the personal and analytical voice.
