Bring it On! Teaching 5th Graders to Recapture their Writer's Voice Intermediate-middle

The purpose of this presentation is to demonstrate a couple of sample lessons to teach students how to recognize and use voice in their writing. The lessons are based on the Six Traits writing assessment model. They are specific to fifth graders but can be adapted to any grade by changing the content. To become proficient and creative writers, students must learn what their own writing voice is and how to use it effectively to communicate with their audience. The packet contains definitions of voice as well as resources to evaluate students' proficiency in using voice, and suggested books to use for additional lessons.
