Online Teacher Research and Inquiry Community and Forum: Classroom inquiry and the concept of the “teacher as researcher” represent a way of viewing and understanding our own classrooms as places of inquiry and interest. Investigating our teaching practice and how it influences student achievement places teacher research in the here and now of the classroom. Additionally, the role of teacher as expert on learning is validated. Join us in a unique collaborative setting, where together we will pursue the answers to our own questions about our teaching and our students’ learning. Teacher research is not about doing research, but about becoming a better teacher.

  • Interact with other classroom teachers discussing issues and challenges to teaching and learning.
  • Post questions or concerns and get thoughtful feedback from your on-line colleagues.
  • Respond to your on-line colleagues' questions and concerns.
  • Participate in focused discussions with other teacher and action researchers.
  • Establish links with other teacher and action researchers in order to pursue common questions.

  • Focused professional or personal reading with no interruptions
  • Investigating a new teaching idea and developing a plan of implementation
  • Collaboration among SAWP fellows
  • Revising or re-working your teaching demo
