Desert Living Is Different

Desert Living Is Different! guidebook is an undertaking of the Southern Arizona Writing Project (SAWP), a professional development network dedicated to improving student writing and learning by improving the teaching of writing in our nation's schools. SAWP is based at the University of Arizona in the Department of English. It is a part of the National Writing Project, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, and is made up of K-16 teachers representing five counties along the entire Arizona-Mexico border. SAWP principals and teachers work in widely diverse schools and teach diverse ethnic, economic and racial groups.
